Welcome to the Village of Sheffield. We recently celebrated our 200th Anniversary Bicentennial (1815-2015) and remain a youthful, vibrant and growing place for families.
We offer 13.50 square miles of welcoming churches, neighborhoods, fine schools, VA Clinic for our Veterans, shopping and world-class dining. We are home to Ohio Business College and in very close proximity to Lorain County Community College.
We have hundreds of acres of parkland, 4.5 miles of natural and designed walking trails, baseball, football fields, picnic areas, shelters and playgrounds to enrich the lives of our residents and their families. Recently we completed side paths on the west side of Abbe Road from Detroit Road to I-90 overpass and will continue to French Creek Road.
In short, ours is one of the safest cities in America with top-notch safety forces and exceptional Fire Department with Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT).
Our economic development in the Village provide a business-friendly climate for large and small business owners. We are active in North Coast Chamber of Commerce and Lorain County Chamber of Commerce to help our 300 plus local business owners be successful locally and globally.
Our Councilmembers and I always strive to be attentive to the changing community dynamics. We will continue with what has worked so well for so long.
Whether the Village of Sheffield is your home, your workplace, or you are merely visiting, I hope you enjoy this special place that is Sheffield Village, Ohio, The HEART of Lorain County.
Sincerely,
John D. Hunter, Mayor & Safety Service Director, Village of Sheffield
