UPDATED COVID-19 PROTOCOL
In order to reduce the spread of COVID-19, to maintain the efficiency and uninterrupted provision of Court services, and to protect the health of staff and visitors, the Court has considered the mask guidance issued by the CDC on February 25, 2022 and determined the following for Court staff and public:
Using the COVID-19 County Check on the CDC website, the Count will implement the following mask requirements for Court staff and public who enter Court facilities:
1. When Lorain County is at a "High" level, all staff and public must wear a mask, regardless of vaccination status.
2. When Lorain Country is at a " Medium" level, Court staff and the public may choose, but are not required, to wear a mask when conducting business at the Court. The use of masks will be optional, yet encouraged for any person who is immunocompromised, lives with a person that is immunocompromised, or at high risk for severe illness.
- The use of masks will be optional for staff that are in compliance with the Court's vaccine mandate.
3. When Lorain County is at a "Low" level, Court staff and the public may choose, but are not required, to wear a mask based on personal preference. The use of masks will be optional, yet encouraged for any person who is immunocompromised, lives with a person that is immunocompromised, or at high risk for severe illness.
- The use of masks will be optional for staff that are in compliance with the Court's vaccine mandate.
4. Any person who has COVID-19 symptoms, has been exposed to someone with COVID-19 or has tested positive for COVID-19, must wear a mask for 10 days following the date of exposure or positive COVID-19 test.
5. Any person who is unvaccinated is strongly encouraged to wear a mask at all times while in a Court facility.
6. Masks must be well fitting and cover both the nose and mouth.
7. The CDC County Check will be monitored on a weekly basis by the Court. Based on the risk level in Lorain County, the mask policy will be updated as necessary.
8. Those persons entering Court facilities without a mask will be provided one if requested or required based on County level.
